Any one hit Mantua the last few days?? Thinking of hitting it Saturday for some perch.

Any info would be appreciated!!

Took the grandsons out Monday. Ice and access were fine. Fishing was great although catching was slow for us. Must have been also for many others serious on catching 'cuz lots of moving around. Of course there were a couple small cities the likes of which never move once settled in. Overall pressure much less than earlier when it was the only game in town. Typical Mantua shutdown after the early pressure seems to put the catching on hold.

Gotta luv those guys that park right in front of the 'no parking' signs. Barny was johnny-on-the-spot giving out well deserved tickets.

went there Wednesday Ice is safe 8" with 6 to 8" frozen snow.slush on top . Fishing was slow. Trout bite in 7 to 10 feet was hot . moved out to 12'feet looking for some pans good marks on sonar set down the Marcum camera mostly baby bluegill and perch. As mentioned need to be mobile poke lots of holes. I'm one of them tent guys poke a hole might move once or twice then I'm anchored. move more when the grandkids come with me. I need that young blood to pull the sled.
Good luck, and enjoy your weekend. we are having more snow up here in Brigham so it maybe heavier up the hill.

Everything I've heard over the last week or two is SLOW....

The few they do catch are stunted/smallish. Some 12-14" trout being caught close to the bank if that fits your fancy.
