Haven't been on Hyrum recently, but I was on a pond in Cache Valley yesterday and that big snow has resulted in a new slush monster. Be prepared for slush and that usually means bad edges as well. The snow was deep enough you can pack it down and stay above the slush so far so you won't have to stand in it but be prepared for a more difficult trek to your spot. Good luck. J

I was on Hyrum last Thur. Ditto on everything skunked said. 12"+ of snow with slush at the bottom. Hard hiking, but you can pack it down and stay dryer. A snow shovel to throw some extra on to pack down is a plus.

When Bear Lake has ice it's kind of crazy to play at Hyrum but maybe that's just me. Big blue is calling me. Later J

I stopped by Tuesday. There has been allot of traffic on the ice. Anywhere a machine or sled had been exposed the slush and its now froze. You can easily access plenty of area to fish without much worry. If you venture out into the virgin snow covered areas you will find slush.
