Well, I had to try it once, and may not do it again for awhile...buddy and I hit the pond and were fishing by about 4:30 p.m., with light to moderate snow all the time...I thought this was what we really wanted! ... turned out the bite was just "light to moderate" like the snow.....we fished 'til 8:30, I had the light bite (4 bites, 2 cutts landed) my buddy had the moderate bite (8 or 9 bites, 3 hooked, 1 landed)...I was in 29 FOW, he was in 31, and only15 ft apart....but I just couldn't buy a bite 'til about 7:00, and caught my 2 within 10 mins. of each.....he was seeing alot more fish, so there must have been some little structure difference....This was the same area we've done good at during 'normal' fishing hours, but hearing some of you guys doing good on ice here in the evening, well , I just had to try....I tried butter worms, cut meal worm, shrimp, and even power bait...Surprise (for me) power bait worked best, for my buddy and me also....No problem getting on or off the ice, other than 2 old guys having to rest every 30 feet pulling sleds! No slush (frozen-about 8") and 10" snow, and 12" solid ice, so m;y ice auger was down to the max...good to be out, but the next time here will be A.M. again....Guluk....
