The only way to know for sure was to go, so we did....got there about 0815, on ice and fishing by 0845....I was very surprised how good the side entry (So.) was, so didn't need the large plank we'd brought just in case....crossing the pond was ok, esp. if you stayed on packed trails...once off, we did bust thru the 5" slush layer, but the ice is about 9 - 10" thick....we were the first ones there, and a little apprehensive, so at first turned back and talked to the people at the store; they said yes, people were still out there yesterday, so that's when we gave it a go.....3 very nice bull bluegills right off, then a 16" bow, then a 12" perch, all before 0930....unfortunately that was it for the panfish, we moved 4 times but just couldn't get another bite, other than the rainbows....I iced 10 total bows, 2 on butterworms, the rest on chartreuse powerbait....so the rainbows played today, right up to 2:00 quitting time....2 other guys out in our general vicinity were targeting panfish, hiking all over the place, and didn't find them up to when we left...Little slushier on the way out, but no issues....still doable....be careful and Guluk....
