A couple of us went to Millsite today and fished from our tubes. The reservoir is still about half covered with ice but it's going fast with these warm temperatures. We fished from 9:45 until about 3:00 and only managed to bring in six fish, four cutthroats, one rainbow, and one cuttbow. We used both slow and fast sinking lines with size 6-8 bead head leech patterns and soft hackles. The color of choice was tan/green and midnight fire. The water temperature was 39-41 degrees and the visibility in the water of about 3'-4'. The reservoir is 67% full.
We did not catch any fish until after 12:30 and even then we didn't get much action. There were several folks bank fishing and we saw a few other fish caught. The fish are pretty good sized in here because the DWR has not stocked the reservoir in two years because of the upcoming dam construction.
Another slow day on the water with beautiful weather.
