Only saw one other group fishing from the marina to Renegade. They were off to the right of the ramp.

From the marina to where it opens up to Renegade and the narrows there were only small patches of snow. In Renegade there was an inch or so on top of the ice.
Good news no slush.

Caught a few planter size bows and met a couple of bored fish cops. Late start to the day.

How was the ice? We were thinking of going tomorrow with the ATVs.

I was up on the 13th ice was 40" plus, it is multiple white layers with clear at the bottom. Plenty of safe ice still if that's your question.

you may wan't to rethink the use of atv's there is a lot of slush in the afternoon

I was off the lake by 2 and there wasn't any slush to be found. The launch ramp was soft but that was all. I would take a wheeler without any reservations. Next week I will be there on my wheeler.

Thanks for the info, I'll post how it goes.

As Klam said, solid ice, about an inch of snow, and no slush. Did find one spot towards Renegade where a couple springs had opened garbage lid size holes fourty yards off shore. Fishing wasn't bad. We ended up with about 40 cuts and one rainbow between three of us.

We were going to take the road over to Rennegade just because I don't trust a 4 seat RZR with tracks on the ice in case we found a soft spot. We got a later start than we wanted and ended up fishing near Bryan't Fork. We found about 6 inches frozen slush, 6 inches slush, and then more frozen slush and black ice at the very bottom. Auger barely punched through all the layers. While we were there you could actually hear the top layer of ice melting. There was nobody around us and it was very quiet and peaceful. I think once these warmer temperatures soften that top layer of frozen slush it will be over for me until ice off. We ended up landing two and lost 4. Slow day but the kids had fun sledding and it was a beautiful day up there.
