I love the reports and post everyone gives so I thought it only fair to give my report.
Fished Lincoln Beach area on Friday and it was a good pre-front morning. 4 good cats, total weight almost 20 pounds. Tough bite but it was during the day after all. Had to feed them about 5 feet of line on the bite on a slip sinker to get them to take it.
Came back during the storm on Saturday and got skunked. Still, stopped by Sandy Beach to see it for the first time (funny I never made it there). Was shocked to see how far they are wading and only up to their waist. WOW
Sorry the fish photos were not so good. Wasn't planning on showing them off at the time.
Thanks for posting your report and pics, looks like you had a good day on Fri, too bad Sat wasn't as good. When you catch 4 cats that average almost 5 lbs each at least had one good day out there.

Thanks for the report. Hope the water is rising.

The water is rising, but I am not one to be the best source for that. UL is so big that water can rise or fall 6" on one side just due to wind direction.
Some rocks I was on that day went underwater when the wind suddenly dropped. LOL
I wish I could have waited for warmer water. Have a knee replacement tomorrow so I was getting a quick trip in before I get sidelined for 6 to 12 weeks.

Good luck on the knee replacement! I have to have Rotor Cuff surgery on Friday! It is my casting arm. Sure will put a dent in my kitty fishing. You southern boys keep the pressure on!

Good luck on the surgery, you can always drop you bait and the move the boat with the bail open, [

Good luck both of you, sorry that will cut into the contest time. Hope you both have a speedy recovery. Later J

Ya, I didn't sign up for the contest.
Was not sure how the sign up would go. When I fish North, am I fishing for the North? When I fish South, am I fishing for the South?
Could I actually be fishing against myself? ROFLOL

Sign up is still open and it's free. We have a new rule this year that lets you poach one of your three fish from waters on the other side. So I would recommend you sign up for the area you will fish most and you can still fish both sides, but your scores all go to the side you signed up for. Now if you catch two big ones on the other side you only can count one. Hope you can see what I'm trying to say. Later J

Wimp MY BUTT! Yew ol' caner, yew know good an' well yer tuffer than a boiled owl!!!

[#0000FF]Maybe in my younger years. But I tend to be a bit more selective in planning my trips these days. Us old guys need to know our limitations and pick our fights more carefully. Our bodies won't always cash the checks our brain (?) writes.
Talkin' trash don't mean nuthin' if'n ya cain't back it up.

Seems like the fish (cats & wiper) don't like to bite near as much when the weather is unfavorable either... So why suffer when the results will be less than you'd hope for anyway... My problem is, now the weathers better, my better half has her idea of what should be getting done and it don't seem to include catching fish... don't know why she figures the lawn needs to be mowed, I think the swather will handle it just fine.... [#0000FF]We just had a thread on how dumb fish are. I think it's the other way around. The fish are smarter than the guys who chase them...at least during bad weather.
Mowing the lawn instead of going fishing? A case of misplaced priorities. Don't women realize that it is silly to mow the lawn so often? After all, it just keeps growing back in. And why bother to bathe or shave? Just gotta do it over and over again.
When a guy is still unmarried he gets up in the morning and says "Lo, the morn". After he is married his wife makes him get out of bed and says "Mow the lawn".
If you let your lawn grow just a bit more you can use a hay baler and make some money selling the bales...to help support your fishing addiction.

Ya know Pat, it was really close to being able to bale yesterday... I was sort of embarrassed to see how long it had gotten... Good thing I live in the country instead of a fancy home owners association.... Think I'll try for some cold cats today and hope I can make'em bite... I do have an old Camaro and some cinder block, do you think I should complete my Joe Dirt impersonation? Maybe I can pull in a mobile home too... If I push it too far my wife might send me to live in a mobile home... Anyway nice to get things cleaned up a little and start to get ready for the summer... Maybe a little garden might get planted this weekend, who knows... Later J

[#0000FF]This wind has a lot of pollen in the air. What kind have you been snorting?
Dr. TubeDude recommends you take two casts and don't call me in the morning.

Ok Dr T, took ya up on it, went out for an hour and a half and I picked the right one. Got 3 cats and 3 big carp 25+"ers. Just about lost my rod twice. Dang carp grabbed it so quick that the rod just took off. If my rod holder wouldn't have hooked the reel I would have lost it both times. Fun fighting fish. Cats were all smaller than my 21"er so nothing to score. Thanks for the correct prescription. Later J
