Martin came down for the last time to fish with me on the Chick. My wife has finally decided she is ready to retire from VEC and we will be moving back to AR hopefully this summer. Martin has, since I moved here, came every Spring and Fall to fish for bass on the Chick with me and this will probably be our last time to do it. We had planned this one a while back, little did we know hurricane force winds would be hitting today. emoBang Big waves, high winds and cold front did not deter us, we went any ways. emoDance

Started out on a deep point leading back into a large spawning flat. Good call, first one in the boat was a 4 lber and the second was a 5/12 lber. emoToast Can't beat that start. We were able to fish there only about a half hour before the high winds and waves crashing into us ran us off. We focused the rest of the day trying to avoid the waves and high winds but still fish points and flats leading into spawning areas. It was a pretty good plan. Put 19 bass in the boat. All off of shakeys and all fishing really slow. We could not get them to chase at all. Had 5 slicks, the one 5 lber, two 4 lbers, two solid 3 lbers and 9 in the two lb range. Mostly males but a lot of fun. emoThumbsup Best five would have been a little over 20 lbs.

Martin will be here tomorrow and Saturday so maybe the dang wind will let off. emoDoh Jmax
