I went fly fishing earlier in the day for bluegill with the old fly rod and reel. I think the line on it was 25 years old but still in good condition but that’s a story for the next video. They call them sunfish for a reason so when shade came round and an hour before darkness I tried a deep cut cove with some woolly buggers. Not sure what i would catch I started with olive and noticed a perch then a bass follow me in. Not wanting to waste any more time I switch to yellow and banged out a perch the next cast. A few more casts in I was into a pickerel. The toothy fish took some swift runs. From the moment I saw him till the moment I landed him i thought he was lost. i lazily left my brush beaten 4lb tippet on. However I managed to land the feller for a beautiful photo. Darkness swiftly closed in and I tried to end the night using black. It could have been. I had two nice whacks but did not hook up. This is fishing, a sport full of our own perfect imperfections. Hope you enjoy spending the day with me and thanks as always for watching and hope you enjoyed the video as much as we did making it.
