We decided to hit the lake Sunday afternoon, but made the wise decision to head to Nickajack and bypass Hickamauga due to boat traffic and the fact we were wanting to get some water time on Nickajack before the next CFF. Put in at Cave Lake with only 4 trailers in the lot, including Leonard, and headed out onto the lake and the hurricane winds. Decided to fish with the wind, which carried us down the target area about 15 mph. We caught approximately 10 fish in the first hour or so, with a limit in about 30 minutes. All 16 inch fish with nothing bigger in the boat. Finally headed to a known, but hard to reach spawning area and caught another 15 fish, once again with nothing over 3 pounds. I was glad to see that all fish caught were extremely healthy. All fish caught on creature baits, jigs, and crankbaits. Not a lot of size, as our best 3 would have been 9-10 pounds but a fund day nonetheless. As Dusty predicted at one point, the wind died as we were running back to the ramp to load.
