Got out Sunday evening around 5 with my bro in-law just to catch something, and we did. Went to the wing wall beside the turbines and saw skip jack breaking top water, started throwing grubs and caught several. Then started picking up white bass, I started throwing a jerk bait and caught several on it and one LM that was about two and a half. We drifted close to the wall and there was a continuous stream of shad running along it. First swipe with the dip net got about twenty, all about four inches long, into the bait bucket in my live well. I thought there may be sallies or LM feeding under the whites, so we rigged up Carolina style and dropped it to the bottom. Never caught any bass, but we had loads of whites and a couple of stripers, all around two to two and a half pounds. Several blue and a couple of channels and a nice flathead that was about twelve or more. There was so many shad that my depth finder showed a continuous blob with streaks through it. We fished a few places in the slack water on the way back to the ramp but had no luck. I think the bass were all laying around with their bellies stretched out after a big Sunday dinner. When we got back to the ramp spooked shad were jumping out of the water, several got beached on the ramp. Nothing big to brag about, just a lot of fun.
