Went up to strawberry Friday and Saturday, Friday got up there at sunrise and trolled around soldier creek and then into the narrows, marked fish all over the water columns from 15 ft down to 140+ ft in deeper areas. Tried just about every dodger/squid combo I had and varied speeds from 1mph up to 2,2 mph, and nothing. So I went over to renegade and tried for some cuts, ended up with 7 slot cuts before we left at 3:30.

Saturday got on the lake around 8, launched at strawberry bay this time. Started trolling and got a rainbow on a crocodile after just a few minutes of having it in the water, and then have 3 other bites on the same lure that get off. We were only on the lake for about an hour when the weather picked up all the sudden and we turned back and headed home.

No luck for Kokanee unfortunately.

I appreciate your report. It sounds like what others are reporting so far. I might head up Thursday and give it a try myself, depending on the weather of course.

I was also up there Friday and tried for kokes.
Did everything possible in SC and Strawberry and struck out.
Guess we are all just anxious and a bit too early......

I am definitely anxious my last bag of Kokanee fillets did not crap right so they got freezer burnt so I've been without Kokanee for too long... the withdrawals are almost bad enough to buy farm raised salmon.. almost.

Was it busy up there? Never been to Strawberry but I'd like to give it a try.

Same scenario Sat and Sun put everything in the box in front of them, varied colors, setbacks, speed, lures, squids, scents, maggots etc. Kokes were interested in nothing plowed through many schools with nothing but a few bumps.

By catch of many cuts however one was 26 inch and it still felt like a wet rag right until I tried getting the hooks out of his mouth. I should have conceded defeat on the Kokes and chased bows.

Forgot to mention camped in the narrows through a hell of a storm thunder and lightning with plenty of rain and the lake came up so far I got spun into the rocks in the night and had to do the midnight trudge of shame to retie.

Snow is almost history except in the pines and north pockets.

And no it is definitely not busy for strawberry. ...Yet.
