Anyone know if Cecret Lake near Alta is open?
If I am unable to get to Birch, I may try there.

Are there fish in that lake? I hike to it with my family every summer and have only seen salamanders in there. It was my understanding that they do not stock the lake because it generally freezes solid each year. Would love to be found wrong on this though as I have often thought about how nice it would be to bring a pole on that hike

No fish in Cecret lake. I found that out the hard way. Hiked up there about 10 years back and saw lots of ripplies on top of the water - what I THOUGHT were rising fish. Turns out they were salamanders. So unless you're shooting to catch some slimy salamanders, I would go somewhere else. [laugh]
