Hit Cutler last night to try to bump my scores up. Got to the river about 7 and started throwing worms to catch a carp for bait. First fish came about 730 and threw the hook at the bank. Sister hooked into another one as the sun was going behind the mountain and managed to get it to shore. First cat came about 9 and it seemed like there was one after the other until about 10 when we left and it was like a switch got flipped and they locked their jaws. Caught six or seven and all of them were right around 25". Weather was fantastic except for when the breeze died down and it was just swarms of bugs. Water levels have come down about 6" from where they were at a week or two ago.

Thanks for the report, nice to hear they bit a little...Nice sized fish too... May have to sneak out after dark for an hour or so tonight if I can get away... thanks J

OK, where are you sneaking? I am familiar with the area as I was born and raised not too far away and have relatives all over the place there.
Are you talking about Benson to the island? Are you talking about Cache Junction to the damn? Are you talking about the marsh on the other side of the Benson bridge?
Are you talking about from the old RR bridge to the island? People say they are going to Cutler and that pretty much involves everything from Logan to Beaver Damn.

I must admit to some curiosity about your location as well. I won't ask where, but I will ask if you are fishing from a boat or are you shorebound?

Just fishing from shore I don't have access to or own a boat yet. But if you want you can shoot me a message and we can discuss where I go to an extent.

Hey sorry for the slow reply, I got caught trying to sneak out and have been in fishermen prison. Well got too busy to get out anyway. Hey I fish the Benson segment mostly because I live right in the middle of it. Dad owns a little ground on the east side and up the river so the quick trips are off the shore somewhere along Dads or I've been fishing some sloughs up Bear River in my toon. That's usually where I've found the better fish but it's not good for a quick trip when I can only go out for an hour or so. I do move and try lots of different areas because I haven't found the honey hole yet. But I have one easy spot to fish so I hit that one most often. Just wish there were bigger fish there. Hope that helps. Later J. If not PM me and I can get ya a few more details. Ya know if I say too much on the forum I'll find someone in my spot next time I get a chance to go.

Yeah ..... I don't need GPS location or anything. I was just wondering, which way to go if I launch a toon at the Marina in Benson. In reading Tin Cans post they don't have the docks in yet, so maybe I will hold off a bit as I usually need help to get my Renegade in the back of the truck as it is. Recovering from surgery and getting old is just tons of fun.

If you ever need help, let me know.
Yeah I'm not sure why they're taking their sweet time with the boat docks. Must be a Cache Valley thing...the roads around here are horrendous.

Well my fishing just went way down hill. Cut my first hay of the year so not much fishing for me until fall. Dang it. Hey if you need a hand to load and I'm around I'll run down and help ya. I'm only a mile or two from the marina. I'll PM ya my number so ya can get help if ya need a little. I live up east of the old train bridge so it wouldn't take to long to get there. Not sure if you need the docks to launch the toon. The ramp is pretty shallow sloped but it does have slick moss on it. If you get on the gravel just south of the ramp it's a good spot to put in. Except for the chunk of cement UP&L put in the road. If you try there in a toon, I like the west side and go north about half a mile you'll see a good little spot. I've also trolled minnows and did well on the way down to that spot. Good luck. J
