had a buddy come into town to fish for a bit. we got to fish the friday and saturday night tourneys out of hbsp. friday eve we started out on a ledge that has some fish on it, caught one little spot before it got dark. started jumping around trying to get a bite, fished worms around brush, tried slow rolling a sb around grass, drug a worm around shell beds but got no love. finally started fishing the bank with topwater and caught 2 over 4lbs and a couple of shorts. needed one more bite 3+lbs and we could have been in the hunt. took 14lbs to win.<br /><br />got some rest and put the boat in the water about 4 on saturday, spent the next 3+hrs looking at ledges trying to find some fish but never found what we were looking for so we went shallow at blast off and ran into a creek. Gray caught a keeper on a frog and i caught one on a RW V-Twin buzzbait before dark. we ran down lake to fish some shallow stuff after dark and then spent a big chunk of time hunkered down in a marina waiting for the storm to pass. after the worst of it went through we got back to fishing and worked our way back up the lake and put ti on the trailer; we didnt feel like the 3 little keepers we had would be enough to do anything so we took it to the house.<br /><br />got up early monday and ran some shallow stuff and caught a few on topwater before sliding out to a ledge to catch a couple on a cb but that didnt last long. looked at some other stuff for fish and finally went back shallow to flip some and catch another on the RW Series V-Twin. mid day took the boy and ladies to some bream beds so they could have some fun, and they did caught a bunch for the frying pan. went back out after dinner and went to a ledge thats been holding some fish and managed to catch a few on a cb. switched between a rattling and wooden cb to catch a few, biggest was only in the 4+range but still nice to be out.
