Last Saturday we decided to hit lost creek with the kids. For a holiday weekend it wasn't too busy. I have recently learned that when fishing with my 4 small children everyone is much happier with fishing in the evening than the early morning hours so we didn't arrive at the lake until about 4pm. We had a blast!!! The fish weren't big but they were defiantly plentiful. We trolled mostly up the arm that the boat ramp is not on and caught dozens of small rainbows and cuts. We started with small rapallas on 2 poles and a flasher with a pink squid on a leaded line and never changed them out. It didn't seam to matter on the depth or the speed we were getting hooked up all night with several doubles and an almost triple[Smile]. As it started to get dark we moved into the arm with the boat ramp and just before we were ready to head in my 6 year old sons 5' ultra light pole started to go crazy! Right away I could tell this was not like the other fish we had been catching. With the light pole, light line, and 6 year old experience it took several minutes but soon we had a fat and healthy 20" cut at the boat. My son was so excited! and then mad that we had to let it go because of the slot limit. He has been talking about that fish to his friends all week and like a true fisherman, it keeps getting bigger and bigger[angelic]. Its trips like this that I am hoping will hook my boys so they will want to go when they are older

These are the fishing stories I like to read. Fishing with the little ones is always the best, plus your teaching valuable lessons and the rules of the sport. Nice!!

Good to see another generation being brought in the ways of the 20" fish...I mean the 24" fish...I mean the 36" fish.
