Fished our club out of Dayton yesterday and found it the same as my practice day. Started off in creek above Mud creek, caught a 2lber right off the bat in the reeds on a frog and thought "its gonna be a good day"! After about 2 more hours working frogs, spinner baits and flipping and no more bites my thinking had changed! Ran down around Hiawassee island with no luck there. Ran down to Possum creek and started catching a few on docks but no keepers and nothing on the flats at the back. Started working back toward Dayton hitting docks and points picking up more shorts flipping docks. Tough day for all of us in our group. Took 9lbs even with 4 fish to win. They ran all the way to Wolftever! 2nd was 6-2 with 3 fish, 3rd was 2-6 with 1 fish and I squeezed in 4th with my 1 fish at 2-2. All I know is I need some lessons from you guys!! Heard it took 26lbs in the ABA on the same day! I do read a lot of your reports and I'm always impressed with the way they are written and with the catches! I guess I will have to wait until the fall when the fishing gets easier!
