Fished the CBA - white card- alone. Had about 25-30 fish in 2-6 ft of water. Probably 12-14 keepers with 2 of them close to 4lbs. Started out with a top water plopper mdl 90, nailed 2 keepers then switched over to spinnerbaits. It took a bit before I figured out which one they wanted then started banging fish steadily all day. Around 7:30 a good 5lbr freight trained me and stopped my heart- then really pissed me off when it jumped my bait and said goodbye! Can't loose these kind of fish and expect to get paid! I ended up dead near 15 lbs and caught a lot of 2-3 lbrs that wouldn't cull. Its nice to just throw back chunky keepers when they won't cull! best bite was from 1-4 pm mostly offshore. Desperately tried for a good kicker but in the last 1/2 hour, caught 4 more 2.5-3's. Ended up with my biggest fish (3.95), dying on me so, I really wanted to weigh in but I threw back my fish and went to the house. I was icing my fish with frozen bottles of water adding release formula and left my recirc on manual all day. Guess he just got too stressed in captivity. Overall, Another dusting for me. There will always be more tx's but there comes a time when you realize- geez- I'm gettin old!
