I probably fish the Renegade area of Strawberry 90 percent of the time. However, most of the time when I fish it I'm usually using jigs or flies and catch Cutts & Bows. My question is: If you fish this area too do ever just target Kokes and what is your catch rate. If at all. I know most of the Kokes are caught on the SC side and also out of the main Strawberry side but never read/hear any reports coming from the Renegade area for Kokes.

We consistently catch lots of kokanee everywhere in strawberry and on both sides of the narrows. I look for any place over 50ft deep to fish for them. They tend to be in "schools" so once you find them keep going back to the same area.
As more boats show up in the morning they definately get more difficult to catch, especially on holiday weekends. I do much better in the areas where lots of people are not actively targeting the Kokanee. I always steer away from the crowds of boat when fishing for kokanee at strawberry.
I've never tried jigging for them, we have the trolling method down and I'm not bored with that yet. I bet they are awesome to catch on a bare bones rod!

I bought 2 new downriggers for my boat so I will be trolling for them. However, this is new territory for me, although I do troll flies once in awhile for Cutts & Bows. So it will be trial and error for a little bit until I figure it out.

IMO -- 'Trial and Error' is the best part of our sport....I guess I enjoy success as much as the next guy, but discovering new lures, techniques, buying (and buying) new equipment, and then trying all this 'New Stuff' is what's most fun for me....Got a 'Sure Thing' killer set up? That's nice for awhile, but then you've lost the mystery of the fishing effort....so don't ever totally 'figure it out', or worry that somebody is doing it a lot better than you....there'll always be somebody better out there, but if you can, maybe you will learn something from them....I've just been trolling (my boat) 4 years now, and you just learn more, the more you go....Just added planer boards last year as an option, and sometimes they work great!....learned the 'two lines off one downrigger' a few years ago, and that works great (except for line tangles), learned when to long line and when to short line, etc. etc......and you will have fun learning lots of tricks on your own....Guluk....
