I have meetings up in Logan next week and was interested in fishing for an hour or two from shore, mainly for warm water species, but trout if necessary. If anyone is willing to share some basic info, thank you.

Option #1 Newton - Is the water level good and are the bass, and crappie doing well?

Option #2 Mantua - I've been seeing plenty of info on the forum, but if you have any tips, thanks.

Option #3 Hyrum - Is the bass fishing any good from shore right now?

Option #4 Blacksmith's Fork - How are the water levels/clarity?

PM's are certainly welcome if you don't want to respond on open forum. I used to live up there, but haven't fished there for 10 years and things change. I'll be there for a couple hours of C&R. Thanks for any intel.

Been a few weeks since I've been over to Newton area and haven't fished it, but the dam was topped out with water level this spring and I know the farmers are watering like crazy now, so sure the levels are pulling down a little, but I suspect they are still pretty high and will be better than they have been for years... The crappie were nice sized through the ice last winter so if you can find them, they should be 11-12"ers...

Waters on the rivers are receding and clearing up.. Delivered some hay off the side of the Blacksmith last weekend and you could see the bottom of the river in 18" flows... So it's getting much better for clarity... Sorry haven't had time to fish anything lately, but conditions are looking better to be more fishable...

Hope to chase some cats on Cutler tonight so can maybe tell you how that goes after the trip... Have fun and good luck, it's a good time to try them... Later J

Sorry not much info to share so far this year. Mantua was good for trout a couple of weeks ago and have heard the bass and bluegill are heating up. haven't been out to Newton, Logan river is still high and murky but some people have been catching browns at first damn on a fly. Hyrum should should turn on any day now. Good luck and as always just have fun.
