I fished Electric lake Wednesday afternoon from 5pm until dark. I trolled dodgers and a hoochie with Down riggers at varying depths from 15' to 30'. Not a single hit. The water is still pretty murky from the runoff.

Sorry to hear that. I was hoping to fish Electric Lake soon. Sounds like a better give it a few weeks.

Sounds like you had about as much luck as we did. We were on the water by 7 a.m and caught 2 cutts all-day between three of us. Tried catching kokes early but had no success. Tried every bait and lure there is by the time we called it a day around 2. Lots of minnows along the shoreline and I'm guessing that's what all the trout are feeding on.

That is the report I have been hoping to see. I will be there soon with jigging rod(s) in hand. Did you see any minnows in the shallow that I can either catch in my minnow trap or catch with my casting net?
Ron, nice looking trolling rigs you have made. I bet they work great.

Plenty of minnows in the shallows. I caught over one hundred with a minnow trap. Caught one Kokanee about 14". Had some other bites but not much else.

Thanks, glad to know I can still get minnows up there. I really like to tip my jigs with fresh red-sided shiners.

Kent i have seen 5 to 8 lbs tigers boiling on the minnows along the shore!! there are so many minnows i think the fish are full.. every fish we have caught has had a full belly of minnows, except the salmon that is.. all the cutt's and tigers are looking good..
was up there again on sunday caught 1 salmon and lost 3 more 1 at the net. darn it.. pink dodger and squid was the trick then.. the salmon in there are looking really good and fat as well.. we did catch 4 cutt's sunday but spent the day fishing salmon.

well they may be 4 years old but they have only been in E-lake for 3 years now.. we seen some red's in the lake and river last year so i hope they are doing good in there. sure is fun to have something else to try for. and i have to say i don't like to eat trout, but taking a liking to the salmon.. It is good to see the kokes getting big enough to eat. give it a few years and they should be huge.

Glad to hear it. It would be nice to catch some cutts up there that aren't so thin. I have never understood how that place can be so full of minnows yet the cutts rarely put on any significant weight. Hopefully, they leave enough room in their stomachs to bite my tube jigs.

Or they could reproduce so well that they eat themselves out of house and home, and wind up like the salmon in Porcupine Reservoir. 12 or 13 inches is about the maximum size there. If they are going to grow huge, the first bunch in there should be the largest you'll ever see. Why? Because they have the least competition for food.
