Decided to get out again before the rain came in. Got out around 7 and fished till 2. Had a lot of fun catching but not a lot of size. Could not get them to chase today at all. Tried blades and cranks with not even a smell. The only bait they would take that I used was my good ol' stand by shakey. Boated 26 bass that came into the boat. Had a small limit in the boat the first hour. Try as I did I don't think I ever even had a big one on. Would have culled up to 14 lbs but none would hit the 3 lb mark. Had a couple right there but just shy of it. More keepers then shorts but mostly two pounders with a couple keepers not even two pounds. emoScratch Don't know where the big fish were. Tried going deeper but blanked. All my bass today came from 7 to 15 feet along grass edges and drops.<br /><br />I did have one load up right on a drop that went into some deeper water. Hit hard and rammed the hook home. Knew I had a ten pounder. emoEek Headed for deep water but stayed down. I backed off the drag and started following it a little with the trolling motor. Got right on top of it and tried to pull it up. That is when my ten lb bass rolled. emoMad Yep, it was a ten pounder all right, but it was a ten pound channel cat. emoBang Dang thing hit a shakey.<br /><br />Lot of fun today, just blessed to be out fishing. No bass were picture worthy, did not take any. Jmax
