Going to go up to either Currant Creek or Strawberry this week. Looking to know how they are fishing. Love to fish currant creek because you can keep some fish. If it isn't any good I don't want to go up there. Fished it last year and caught about 30 fish. Any help would be great. Also I was wondereing what are paddle bugs and whatta crickets? I know that is probably a stupid question but I don't know what they are.
Thanks,

You can find samples of both at Hooked fishing tackle in Kaysville. They are very knowledgeable folks who will direct you to what you need depending on where you are fishing. If you look on the east canyon post and download the picture of the awsome trout, you will see a whata cricket it his mouth.

[red] Say guys where exactly is Currant creek? I have heard a lot of you talk about it, but never could figure out where it is. How is the fishing there normally? What is in there?[/red]

you go past soldier side of the berry and you turn at the currant creek lodge. going back north, it's about 17 miles in. not a bad road either.

AFDan52,
To answer your question about the fish there at Currant Creek Res. it's cutthroats mostly with a few rainbows mixed in but mostly Cutts. There's no size restriction there, but the flip side of that is I don't think there is very BIG fish in there like at the berry. The Creek itself runs out of the reservior and you'll be following it all the way up to the lake. The dirt road is like 17 miles like the other poster said. The creek has browns in it and is flys nd lures only, but is also a great place to fish (when there's not 3 feet deep snow surrounding it, that is).

if you remember when they poisioned the berry, they (the fish and game) shocked the fish in the berry and then transplanted them in currant creek.
there were some really nice bows and cutts that came out of the berry. so just maybe they haven't been caught yet and they are 4-5 lbs .

I have wanted to get back up to Current Creek for some time now. I have never ice fished it and think it would be good.

Thanks for the information. I think that I will try and make it up to Current Creek this week. I will post a report of how fishing was.

The currant creek lodge has been tore down. Seems that it was on two peices
of property. A family feud resulted in the end of th e old lodge according to a
guy at the gas station last year.
