Well actually if you get up on the rim which is a huge area, most of the lakes will have ice in winter. Snow makes it very hard to get to the lakes too. Arizona is very diverse when it comes to geography. The Mogollon Rim is 7500 to 8000' in most places. Down in the Lower Sonoran Desert you won't ever see ice. <br><br>

Not really. I doubt if the ice is really as safe as up north. When I lived in North Dakota we drove our car out onto the lake to fish. There may be some brave souls who ice fish here but just how thick does the ice get, I don't know.<br><br>
