Put in at CFP and headed toward the dam. Went fishing is a slough. Saw some bait busting, so I started with a topwater. Gave up on that after 15 minutes or so. Tried a frog on some grass, again, activity in the area. No go. Went across to laydowns, and found a few bass. Caught three that were 17-18" , all on a Zoom 6" worm The sun was just over the trees, and all the fish were on single, isolated laydowns. Boat was in 6-8 fow, pitching toward the bank. Crossed to shady side, and had a couple of slicks, on plastics again. Fished the opposite side again, around 9:30, fish had left. Tried some deeper stuff, out near the main channel. Didn't hook up. Watched the rain and clouds blow by north of us, and quit when I heard the thunder by the dam. Hit the rain on the way home. Not a bad morning, cloudy, and a light breeze.
