My friend Steve and I have talked about trying the Nick and today we got the chance. We put in at MCP about 8 am and fished til 1:00 and then it was just too hot. We beat the banks with no luck, fished the main channel grass edges with only 1 short fish. Went to Cave lake area and followed fish feeding on top til we caught a few. Steve caught the best one at 11:15 am dragging a trap just off bottom and it weighed 7.5 lbs and it was in about 20 fow. I think we boated around 10 lm and s few white bass also. All caught on skakey heads except the big one. Water temp in mid 80&#39;s. <br /><br />Very few boats on the water and only 1 other trailer at the ramp.
