I just got done waxing my three Jet sleds. Thank goodness, as far as I know, they only make three sizes or I would have to own more than three sleds. Trust me, it is much easier to wax a sled when it is 80 or 90 degrees out than it is with temperatures below freezing and using a Deseret Industries hand iron to melt the wax.

Ordered new boots a couple weeks ago and a new ice suit / gear will be ordered soon. Can't wait for ice fishing!

I have no problem waiting. Lots of places I still want to fish from my boat before it gets too cold.

Been a really slow summer for me. I caught 1 fish in 33 days at one point. Ready for fall fishing and hunting. Then hopefully an awesome ice fishing season.

Haven't you heard about Pam? It's wonderful stuff.

Good tip, if I was only that prepared.... Still thinking about putting my sled up for the summer..... Been seeing some good sales on ice gear, imagine the prices will start climbing soon... Thanks Kent.... Later J

Getting my shoulder operated on the 25th. Doc says the sling will be off by 1 Nov. Bring on the hard water.

I tried Pam once.
Then I put the sled in the back of my Expedition.
The Pam came off and wound up all over the carpet.

Now I use ski wax. It dries where Pam doesn't.

I hadn't ever thought to do this. It looks like a great idea? Has this process worked in the past? Mind posting what you use and how you do it please? Thanks!

I just purchased a block of candle wax from a hobby store several years ago. When the sled is hot one can just slide a corner of the block of wax across the hot sled and the hot sled takes care of everything else. It usually works for a few trips depending on how many rocks or dry pavement that one drags the sled across.

Yes .....I neglected to say that you need to put cardboard on the floor in the back of the truck.

You are to be commended for your preparation. Thinking about ice fishing seems crazy when it is 90 degrees but in reality it is only 3 months away.
