Hit E.C. for my first ice fishing trip there and all I can say is WOW. With all the easily viewable wild life, who cares about the fishin[Wink] Saw probably close to 100 deer, a few bald eagles and some falcons.

On with the report. Arrived about 1ish. We fished the Taylors Hollow pull out on the west side of the reservoir. Fishing was slow when we first arrived and took a few holes to find any action. It seemed like a one fish per hole limit. Drill a hole, catch 1 fish. Drill a hole, catch 1 fish. We ended up catching 3 bows, 2 for my partner and 1 for me ranging from 15-17 inches. We were using white whatta crickets tipped with crawlers about 1-2 feet off the bottom. We left about 6:30 and drove very cautiosly out of the canyon due to the mass amount of deer. Didnt get any pictures of the fish, but here are a few deer pics.

Great view

Thanks for the report teroy, we were up there yesterday and if we were fishing for deer we would have gotten tons of them, they were everywhere.

Yes, the trout are OK to eat, a lot of people will skin them first but the spots are only in the skin and will not hurt you to eat the meat. It sure makes the fish look bad but it won't affect how the fish taste. WH2

If I remember correctly, the parasite is dormant during winter months anyway. The ones we caught last week only had one larger fish with a few superficial scars.
