Recently picked up a canoe and I'm looking at hitting Willard bay later this week after work. It wouldn't be until around 1 or 2 or so. It's been forever since I've done anything outside of powerbait and worms off the shore. What suggestions would you have on lures, location, is that a bad time of day to go out?

I've been doing good about that time. I'd recommend the north marina. Paddle out the green buoy and turn north. Go slow and drag a 3 inch gulp minnow (chartruese or black shad have been working good) tipped with a little night crawler. Cat fish have been eating them up. When you find some, work back and forth through the area. Make sure you have a life jacket. $175 fine.

Yesterday it was 69 when we launched and warmed to 73 in the afternoon.

Thanks for the info! I'll give that a go and post about it. I really want to branch out and do something besides shore fishing with powerbait and worms.

Might want to go into the archives and read anything Tube Dude has posted about Willard. Pat shared his knowledge and significantly cut down my learning curve. When TD talks, I listen.
