If my memory is correct, (and sometimes that is called into question), Deer Creek is very close to being checked for mussels again. If they do not find anything, the lake should no longer be under special regulations.
Can anyone share any information about this?

I rememberize that the three-year quarantine period ends soon - first of the year, perhaps.

They have been monitoring the lake since the quarantine was put in place. It was either this month or next month that would be the three year mark but the state decided to leave the quarantine in place until the end of the calendar year.

So hopefully it gets a clean bill of health and at ice off next year the inspections will be no more.

What, no decontamination station to wash off my auger and scoop........What if I want to ice fish Stawberry the day after I drill holes in Deer Creek?
Sure was convenient for the state to tag on the extra registration fee to only the owners of boat motors.

Yeah I don't quite get it either but in a couple of months at least this circus will be over.

Just another FOREVER FEE.

Rainbow Bay had hundreds of kayaks canoes All Summer Long nobody worried about cleaning those boats everyday.

And they did not have to have an increase of their registration fees.

I was just told by an officer of the DNR that a boat with adult mussles was found on Jordanelle. Not before it was launched, but after. I wish stupid people were not allowed to have boats.

[shocked]Not good....

Did the DNR officer ask him where else he had taken that boat? IMO an incident like this should result in permanent confiscation of boat and equipment. Sad that 1 person can cause so much harm to our fisheries.

Our only hope is that the mussels were very dead and would not present a start.

I wish stupid people weren't allowed to reproduce.
