It's already been drilled a few thousand times this year, but the ice was 7" or so wherever I drilled yesteday. A little damp slush in top here and there is all.

Let's hope the 16 degrees at night at least equal out the 42 degrees during the day so it holds the ice until the cold returns... Nights are longer than the days so maybe we'll be okay... Starting to worry that Bear Lake won't cap this year..... Later J

Ice and edges were fine, started to get slush in around noon. Catching was SLOW! I really did not see anyone catching other than the occasional good luck. Iced about 12 dink perch between the 3 of us. Tried depths of 9, 14, 16. Beautiful day but slow catching!

Same thing here. Slushy and slowwww. I've never seen it as bad as it is this year. I didn't see anybody catching anything this morning. And for all my efforts I lucked into my first ever Mantua Cutt so I guess it wasn't a total loss.
Let's hope the ice holds over the next week. It may be a disaster of an ice season this year.

Ditto with the poor outings at Mantua this season. Fished today from 10-1pm. Ice an inch thicker than last week, but perch an inch shorter. Gonna wait for Pineview to freeze.

Where is the best access point?

Easy access all along the south end. It was a zoo there this morning. Plenty of safe ice with very little snow/slush on the top. As others already mentioned, the fishing was slow. Moved several times and finally marked some fish. Iced several perch and one bow (late morning). Didn't see many people catching more than a random fish here and there.

East side out from parking lot. edges were wet in spots but easy to find places to get on without a plank. 4 1/2 to 5 inch ice some of which is refroze slash. not much snow left on this side so it is slick. fishing sounds the same all around the pond today slow lot of dinky perch

Did you hit the north side of the pond? I seen a bunch of folks over there where its usually not fished on the way home last night... Just wondering if the crowds were so big it pushed folks over there, or maybe they are finding fish on the other side of the pond... Just seemed like the no go area was being used, so I wondered what was up... Not really sure why it usually isn't fished other than it's probably the furthest away from a parking area... Guess I ought to try it sometime so I'll know if there are fish in that part of the pond or not.... Thanks for the report and it looks like you got the camera going... Glad you can see a ways, last time I was there with the camera I couldn't see very far at all... Thanks again... J

fished north bay yesterday evening, safe 4 inches of ice lots of dink perch, no gills or bass. 3 bows one 2lb. The bows and perch were full of 2 inch perch fingerlings. I fished in about 13 ft of water.
