Well, we had a solid game plane coming into the morning. We show up at the ramp with a flat tire on the trl..I’m thinking great might as well load up and head back home. However, we change the tire after putting the boat into the water and blast off. We pick up 2 keepers early, then nothing for about an hour, so we diced to make a run, BAD decision we get to the next 2 spots only to find milk chocolate water and no bait. I tell Chad lets go back to where we started. We make the run back and in what had to be the best move for us in a while, I grab the rig and immediately pick up a small fish, then Chad snags on of the largest shad I have ever seen, and I tell him there are big fish here and make a cast only to have the rig absolutely hammered. We finally get her in the net and she is 7lbs 1oz by my scales in the boat I tell Chad we might be in good shape with 11.5, but I would like to cull the smallest keeper we have its 16in and only about 1lb 11oz. We never get the upgrade and finished 4th with 11.32, all fish were caught between 2-5 ft on rigs trap square-bills and spinner-baits. Had a great time fishing with my son he is a fireman and newlywed, so his schedule doesn’t allow him to fish many tx. Congrats to the winners and see you all next time.
