got out early with Charlie, figured the lake would be a mess, with boats flying around everywhere. but we fished in relative peace for the first couple of hours. caught fish off a shell bed with sb and lipless cb. caught 12-15 off that first shell bed, no giants but some solid 3lbrs and smaller fish. we finally wore out our welcome on that shell bed and moved on. well the traffic caught up with us when we left that first shell bed. pulled up on a shell bed at the mouth of a cove, fished the outside as there was another boat fishing in the area, well they moved away so i moved to the shell bed and Charlie caught one on a sb. i had caught a few off this shell bed friday afternoon and had one about 5lbs, so i thought we were getting ready to whack em.......well then we had 2 or 3 boats drive/idle right through and over the shell bed we where trying to fish. ugh! i get it, its the mouth of a cove but ruined any confidence i had in catching fish there. dropped Charlie off around noon. spent the next several hours trying to find another shell bed like the first one of the day.....hours later....nothing. so i said screw it and got on the windiest bank with a cb and covered some water caught a few including a really solid spotted bass and 3+lb smallie. great day on the water
