Hey guys! Now that it's warming up, my kids are bugging me daily about going crawdadding at Strawberry.

Does anybody remember when the crawdads get active and start to come up into the shallows?

Thanks!

It's a water temperature thing, they start waking up around 50 degrees and get really active above 50. Strawberry may get there earlier, but my first crawdad days usually aren't until June.

This is correct. If you try for them before June, you will only see a couple and they act like they are in a dormant state. You can drop a chicken leg right on top of them and they won't touch it and just move away from it slowly.
