[#800000]I heard back from the BoR yesterday. Apparently there is more being considered for Lost Creek than I knew about and the earlier assessment by Reelfoot and reported by wiperhunter2 was essentially correct. Here is a quote from BoR:[/#800000]

Quote:Reclamation has had an agreement with Morgan County (with other partners included) to help manage recreation at Lost Creek Reservoir since 2000. Our most recent renewal of the agreement was dated September 15, 2017 and is effective until September 30, 2022, unless modified. This agreement is among the Bureau of Reclamation, Morgan County, Utah Division of Parks and Recreation, and Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for the management of recreation at Lost Creek Reservoir.
There are early discussions at this point of upgrading some of the facilities at the reservoir with the end goal of reopening overnight camping at the reservoir. These discussions are in the early stages but they are taking place. It is my understanding that Morgan County has secured funding to fix the road and hopes to have the road paved to Lost Creek Dam by Fall 2018. This will be a great improvement to access the reservoir.
[#800000]You will notice that there is no timeline mentioned for when the camping function might be opened or which agency would manage that function. So, for the near term, it would appear that the road repaving is the only thing on the schedule. And the overnight camping is only being discussed at this point and is not set in concrete yet.[/#800000]

[#800000]I can only guess that the activity at Lost Creek will increase after the repaving project has been completed. That is good news for anybody that would like to haul a trailer up there - be it a boat or OHV type trailer. The one thing that will keep some folks away is the fact that Lost Creek has some restrictions with regard to 'trout'. Here is a quote from the 2018 Utah Fishing Guidebook:[/#800000]

[#000000][#800000]I don't remember for sure, but I think Lost Creek is a wakeless reservoir, so the power squadron shouldn't be a problem up there. But, it may get a little crowded up there on weekends for the fishing boats. I'll be confining my trips up there to Tuesday thru Thursday.[/#800000][/#000000]
