So the cats are willing to play, wipers are warming up, and crappie may be crappy. Conspiciously absent are the walleys from any reports. Too early for targeting the walleye?

[#0000FF]Didn't you hear? The snaggers caught all the walleye out of Willard.

On a more positive note, the walleyes usually take a little vacation after the rigors of spawning and then they go on the chew with a vengeance. By mid May there should be a lot more walleye showing up...if they haven't all been caught by snaggers.

In years past, June has been a magic month for walleyes. Those who know and target them usually score better in June than at almost any other time of the year.

In this year of higher water and a weird spring weather pattern, it may be more difficult to find the fish...but once you find them you should be able to get a few.
