[#0000FF]More and more folks are flingin' flies for wipers every year. And they are super on a flyrod out of tubes. Ask Remo and Fatbiker.

There are a few guys who go up on the dike on bicycles and a flyrod. They ride along the dike during May...when the wipers are schooling along the edges...and watch for the cruising fish. Then then hop off their bikes, wave the fairy wand a few times until the fish move on and then follow them.

I heard there are more fly flingers at Willard this weekend than bank tangling mussel soakers... That's a bit of a change in demographics.... I didn't get to do either, but did get a few rows of the garden planted... One of these day's I'll give the wand a try... Later J

[#0000FF]Another two or three weeks and the wipers should be on the chew. But the numbers are down and the sizes are up.

There a very few things I find more rewarding than fighting a wiper on a fly rod. There have been several times I've had to kick to shore to get my legs under me for enough leverage to land one of the bigger ones.

I also appreciate how the division is reaching out the last few years to help anglers and hunters in their pursuit of fish and game.
