Two words...It sucked. After blasting everyone off, we headed to a set of docks we had fished earlier in the week with hopes of loading up a quick limit. To cut it short, we lost at least 5 keeper fish in the first hour, several at the boat. We finally decided to head up river and stopped up around Suck creek. Dusty caught a channel cat and on consecutive casts I caught small bass that would not measure. Bite slowed down so headed further up. After catching a few small fish, I thought I was hung up on a laydown. As I pulled on the line, all of a sudden it took off and started peeling line off my Quantum PT like it was nothing. Finally I stopped the stripping when the line was down to the knot and the spool. I slowly started working the fish back until I could not budge anymore. We figure the fish got me tangled in the lay downs we were fishing. Line finally broke. Hit one other spot up river and caught three other fish...all small. Headed back around 1pm and stopped where we started. Caught a few just short and lost a couple that would have definitely measured before I finally caught "one of those" on a crankbait at 1:40 that would measure one time, then not the next. Put it in the livewll and sped back to the dock, where we apparently picked up a wad of fishing line in the prop. While worried with the prop and counting out the payout I made the decision to not weigh the fish, and tossed it back. After I did, it hit me that that one pounder probably cost me 90+ points. Oh well. We did catch fish, just small. Fish caught on creature bait, ned rig, and crankbait.

We prefished two days on the river, and neither day matched the water conditions. That was our downfall, along with not seemingly being able to keep a fish hooked.
