I was lucky enough to take a few days off work to chase some tugs in a the line . Set out of Chester Frost at around 6 am. We immediately found some males that wanted a quick ride to the boat. Just my luck a few other boats wanted in on the action . I personally try not to cross anyone but these fellows just took the opposite side of the slough and wrapped around to us. This was annoying to say the least but it was better than work. We moved spots and stated on the shaky heads go include the best bass of the week at 4.75 lbs still on bed . Got lucky enough to set the hook on a 35-50 lb turtle that got a tail tug and picture taken. Finished with 11 keepers and a vicious sunburn. Tuesday was kinda the same except we were ran off by multiple boats just pushing there boats right in . I have some choice words with a few and we proceed to fish. All the same spots as Monday with just a few keepers and a lot of short strikes. I noticed a herd of fellows working the channel ledges . Wednesday I switched to nickajack and drifted from cb Robinson down each side and explored the creek. We caught small spots on top water and crappie jigs. We caught some smallies on shiners but the highlight was being ambushed by Gar. We hit a 40 yard stretch of bank that was thick with em. My minnow was lacerated but back seat let one about 4.5 ft ride all the way to the boat. Thursday left from Soddy creek and headed to opossum creek but never made it. Found a few points to fish on the way and kept the top water bait going along with worm and live shiners. Just caught a few fish but got off the water before it rained. All in all the best week off work in years. I aspire to learn to fish the ledges and start tournament fishing. I also want to know what the proper etiquette is while being bombarded by boats while fishing a spot. How do you deal with the rage.? That’s my week in review thanks for checking it out.
