We decided to donate to the fine tournament run by Tim and Charlie so we headed up and put in at HBSP. The primary concern was the amount of trash in the water, which made us decide to find a primary area and stay in it all evening. Headed to our first spot, dodging limbs and trees. Within ten minutes I had hooked a bass, only a striped bass that hammered a spinnerbait at the boat. Shortly after that boated our first keeper on a spinnerbait. Moved back to grass area and caught second keeper and Dusty caught our third on a spinnerbait right after dark. Fished the rest of the night catching another 8-9 fish, nearly all keeper size, but all 15 inches or so, not the kicker fish you need to be competitive with the night pros. Finally stopped at point and quickly caught two 15 inch fish on a worm, but after taking time to remove hook from one, lost bite and ended night that way. Headed back to ramp with around 8 pounds and decided to toss them back and try again another night. All fish caught shallow in flooded grass, except the stripe and one keeper largemouth, which were both caught in 8 feet of water.
