We arrived around 10 after having to swing through PC to get Mealys and Worms. Went to the 2nd parking area and hiked out 400yards and about 100 yards south. 43 feet of water. Drilled 1 hole and dropped a green 1/16 oz jig w/ a green curley tail to the bottom, it was triled 6" below by an icefly w/ a mealy. i tried crawlers , they worked but fewer hits than the mealy. Perch, Perch, caught 12, no Trout although they were close by. I want to rent an aquaview to see all the strikes i'm missing It was a good day with my 4 yr old son and his dog.it got colder and the wind started to pick up so we left around 2:30.

When i got home i weighed each, most from 4 to 5 oz and one 6 oz. the 4's were all 7 inches and the 6 oz was 9".

We also went to Rockport today, fished on the south east end in 28 feet of water. We caught more trout than perch, it has sure slowed down since January. We used paddle bugs and some black looking plastic thing??? It was still great to get out fishing again!

It was bound to slow down. It has been red hot fishing. Limits have been the norm this year at this little lake. I have learned a lot about fishing for perch through the ice this year and I 'm still slow and miss a lot of strikes but I'm catching fish. Do the trout hit as soft as the perch ?

Trout usually hit harder than perch but that is not always the case, sometime they hit just like perch. WH2
