Yesterday morning was fun 26"er and 25" then a mess of babies. The 26 only had half his upper lip and one whisker? Could this had been from a matting battle or is there something really big the river? It’s an old wound all healed.[inline IMG_5691.JPG]

Once again the night time brought out the bigger fish a 27"er then two 29"ers a baby 18 then to end the night a 22" when the little guys started to bite I called it a night at 12:30 am

[#0000FF]That fish with the mouth problem? Probably due to Tin Can setting the hook too hard.

Looks like it was a good day. I think I saw your truck at the boat ramp last night. Me and my girlfriend were fishing down the road at the big bend drove down to the gate to check things out before heading home. We got skunked but told her we are definitely going back over there as there is a lot more shoreline to fish over there.

Hey don't be shy next time stop by and say hi always enjoy meeting BFT members. I replied to your post in cat chat. A day late and a dollar short. But might help on your next trip

Hey John, looks like maybe the bigger cats are biting again. Nice bunch of Cats...........would help my score but don't help yours much. Just may need to get back up there soon. Maybe Saturday..? Plans are to go to UL again Sunday with son #4 if wind stays down...............

Now Pat...............I don't "set" the hook with Cats. I let them take the bait and hook and run while I'm gradually tightening up my drag, rod tip up. Once I know they have the hook, I will give it a steady pull while reeling. Depending how big they are and how much fight they put up, I will even let them run awhile before trying to bring them to the net. They usually set the hook themselves [
]
That cat's lip looks like a big 5/0 circle hook ripped it out, or it was in a fight over something to eat with one of the Walleye that are in that river.

I'll definitely say hi next time. I was ready to move to a new spot and keep trying. But had to get home as the gf had to work early. After this Saturday I have 5 weeks off so I plan on getting lots of fishing in.

Nice.............. Wish I could get out there and catch some but work is really putting a damper on things.
I keep cringing and looking at the leader board because I know you're going to catch that 36"er out of there here shortly!
Good job, might see ya out there one night.
How are the bugs at night?

Looks like your fishing with a bobber? I was wondering what bait you were using? If you don't mind me asking? Nice cats!

Hey Shark been wondering why I havn't run into you since early spring. Hope you get a chance to get out there.
bring a head net. but it was windy last night so not to bad. but still had thousands around the lantern

yes strawberry I was using a bobber. Most of the time I just use a slip sinker rig . but that day they seemed to want the bait off the bottom. Carp meat is my bait of choice. large minnows If and when I can find them.
