Just curious if anyone has been up the last week or so and could report on how the bugs might be? We are heading up into our favorite basin the second half of the week.

I was up to Chepeta a week ago and it is above 10000 feet and there still were not much for bugs though Pelican was a different story. So I think it will depend on what elevation your planning on being. I have been in the last couple of weeks at various elevations and have only been bothered by bugs under 6000 feet, I hope this helps.

We will be camped around 9100 ft, 2 years ago they were horrible though. Hoping with less water this year there are fewer mosquitos.

I was at the Crystal Lake TH on Wednesday... ~10,000 feet... skeeters were not too bad, deer flies were worse. We were fishing and I wore a head net nearly the entire time.

Wife and I have head nets, but trying to keep one on a toddler is about impossible.

I was up in the Ruth lake area over the weekend. The mosquitoes were terrible in the mornings and evenings. Bring extra spray and a head net if you have one.
