Decided to see how much of a graveyard Lincoln beach was today so I went for a little drive. There wasn’t a car in sight not surprised. The power washer for the DNR boats washer was still out there which surprised me as they told my friend on Saturday when they left they were were closing up shop and going to come back Monday and retrieve the power washer. On Saturday people were still launching so I don’t know if they are doing it in the mornings but at 2pm it was a ghost town. They still have all the closed signs up and with the 100 degree temps Im guessing the algal bloom isn’t going to improve much.

Thanks for the report. I guess I'll probably try Mulberry to get away from the algae. Also thought I might try the mouth of the Spanish Fork River -- it should stay clean in the flowing water I would think. And I want to explore Swede's Lane though that's under a warning too (but not a closure).

Can’t fish Swedes access unless you have a boat, tube, or want to wade. No place to bank tangle. Phragmites all around whole area.

TD: Silly me. I was imagining run-off flows. I have to get out more.
Ice_sled: I was looking at a satellite image that showed earth-moving equipment on a bare dike right out on the tip of the point. Is it not that way now? And can you launch a small boat there somewhere?

Haven’t been out there since last year. They were burning off phragmites. There has always been a place to launch a small craft. But when water levels are low there is a high probability of getting your truck stuck. ( ask me how I know). As you enter Provo Bay on the right side there is gravel road with a bulldozer or a back hole. All around nd the point there is concrete waste dumped on the whole area. Almost all the way to Sandy Beach. Private land; but a good area for kitties. Water depth is shallow. 3-4’ out pretty far from bank.

Thanks, Ben. Note to self: the map is not the territory and the image is not the terrain but a snapshot of an ever-changing reality. Got to get my boots on the ground (or water as the case may be). If I get stuck will you come pull me out on your way home from work?
