We blasted off and immediately headed to a slough we knew had some schooling fish in it. Got there and within 15 minutes had found a school. Had one large fish hit a whopper plopper 4 times but would not hoot. Dusty then caught our first keeper on a worm. I then broke one off on a wacky rig. Caught one on a drop shot and one more on a worm before the school was gone. We stayed with our plan and within an hour and a half had a limit. Switched to bigger worms and caught 14 total fish, with 11 being keeper size. Culled 5 times and finished it up with a 19.25 inch smallmouth that was skinny as a rail, but won us some $$$ nonetheless. Boat ran well, which was the most important thing for us, and we played it pretty safe. When the wind picked up around midnight our bite completely died. Biggest mistake of night was me not upsizing worm hook when going to large worm. Had one nearly yank rod out of my hand but I could not get a good hook in him. As you can guess, I changed the hook after that, but too late. All fish caught in 4-15 FOW on plastic. Congrats to those who weighed in large sacks of fish.
