We started out fishing grass and topwater with no luck. We hit several places and tried frogs and spooks with no takers. I told David lets go worm fish some deeper banks with no grass. It didnt take long til David put the 5-8 in the boat followed by a non keeper smallmouth and I caught a few more non keepers. We moved around to a few more deep banks and kept catching fish but it did take a while to catch two more keepers. Unfortunately one was a spot and we just could not upgrade. We ended up with 8-1.7 and it was good enough for 4th place and the 5-8 was big largemouth.
