Rain let up about 11 am. and I headed to the Nick tailwaters to see if the stripe were playing, and they were not. They were spilling a lot of water through the spill gates and the water level was up a few feet and rolling pretty good. Started down stream and saw the water was up into the bushes and grass on the bank, caught several small fish on a jerk bait and chatter bait but no keeper size fish. Started pitching a Texas rigged worm up into the grass and started catching two to three pound fish, the best was a 3.2 smallie. Fished from the tailwaters down to Burns Island and threw a crankbait from the point of the island down about a half mile and picked up several short fish. Water temps was 82 and a little stained. Best day bass fishing I've had in months, caught around twenty fish, just a lot of fun.
