Braved the cold and the snow for a wonderful day of fishing at Strawberry yesterday 10/8. We hit the water at around 830ish and headed to Renegade just on the south side of the mouth to Indian Creek.

We just drifted whichever way the wind took us (at first to the south and later to the east). Pitched several different lures until we started catching fish. There was 4 of us in our group and we caught upwards of 30 total fish. Most of them slot cuts but managed a few rainbows here and there too!

What were the lures you ask? I used a rainbow pattern Daredevil. The wife got hers on a rainbow pattern Cripplure, my sister did her damage with a Blue Fox, and my brother in law (who did the best) had a lure that I'd never seen before. It had a greenish back and a red cheek and was shaped like a banana.

I usually like to troll but the last 2 times at the lake we caught only 2 fish each trip. Kinda disappointing if you ask me. Had so much fun on this trip we lost track of time. Didn't get off the lake until 300. Despite the cold and a little bit of snow enjoyed the heck out of Columbus Day spent with family catching fish on the Berry!!!!

Amazing how you don't feel the cold when the bite is on! Sounds like fun...we will be up there this Saturday, hopefully we can repeat that kind of action.

Sounds like a fun trip even though it was cold and snowy. Were there any boats launching at the Renegade boat ramp.

Actually on this trip we were on my sister's pontoon. We've had the new boat out quite a bit this summer and fall. I believe it has helped us tremendously on catching more and better fish as well as great times spent on several different lakes. Spent this past weekend at Bear Lake. Got snowed in on Sunday but got some time on the water Monday. Did a lot of fishing but very little catching. I think we need to spend some more time up there learning the lake. Anytime you would like to get together and wet a hook you have an open invitation. Nice to hear from you!

Hey thanks for the invite, and sorry the Bear Lake trip didn't turn out as good as Strawberry, but hopefully it will get better... Maybe I can talk Jesse and Ash into joining us sometime... Later J
