Hi everyone, my name is Pat. I live in Middle Grove, NY, about an hour north of Albany. I fish here and there for about anything, not a real serious fisherman but I enjoy taking the canoe out and spending time on the water. Thanks!

Welcome to the site Pat, what kind of fish do you catch there around Middle Grove?

Mostly small and largemouth bass, but I have a three year old so it's been fun getting back into catching bluegills and perch with him in the last year.

Panfish are a lot of fun for kids, they generally don't care about the size just catching fish. We don't have many members posting on our NY state board, so here is a link to our Freshwater fishing board:

Check out the post by SenkoSam, he too is from NY and regularly targets panfish, here is one of his post:

You might get some tips from him that could help.

Great, thanks for the info! And I’ll be sure to contribute what I can, when I can. This seems like a great resource.

Welcome to the site Harry, what information are you interested in learning about by joining BFT? I'd be glad to help point you in the right direction if I can.

Thank you very much, wiperhunter2! For now, I'm still at the learning curve. I'm focusing more on the basics in the meantime. I know I'll learn a lot from the experienced members here. Cheers!
