Went up to Mammoth and made the trek down the hill further down the lake instead of joining the crowd by the damn. Was set-up and fishing by around 8:15-8:30, I left my phone in my truck and wasn’t going to make that journey back up the hill for it, was only in 12’ of water. I’m guessing about 9:00’sh, the bite turned hot. Used a gizzy tipped with mealworm and a Swedish pimple tipped with a worm. Would miss a hook, drop back down and they would smack it again, unless it was a hook-up and get off. Iced 3 fish, one being an awesome big fatty, I would guess 3 1/2 to 4 lber, missed about 7. All fish went back down the hole. I would say about 11 o’clock and it all was done. I was still marking a few fish, it seemed like they just came up and looked at the bait and would take off, threw different jigs/lures and same result, come up and look and take off. I did start marking more fish with power bait, but same result, window shoppers. I did not mark one fish below 10 feet, they were all from right under the ice to 9’-9 1/2’. I packed up made the hike back up the hill to my truck and seen it was 12:40. A good day early in the morning. A product review, I purchased a 8” Trophy Strike 40 volt battery auger.. Love it, it only did a few holes, but it was awesome especially the reverse feature to push the slush back down the hole.

Thanks for posting your report. How far was the hike down to the ice? Too bad the catching wasn't better but it sounds like that big one was nice. How much would you say your 8” Trophy Strike 40 volt battery auger weighs?
